tola home

give your walls something to say.

murals for folks who don't want boring walls.

Tola Home is the creative world of Austin-based artist Laura Hartstein.

Through collaboration with each client, I create custom murals for homes, businesses, and hospitality spaces. I design each one around the space itself, so the finished piece feels like it was always meant to be there.

Your space already has a story. Let's make something out of it!

howdy! i’m laura.

the gal behind Tola Home.

Tola started with my sister, Tori, as a creative passion project. We started out by giving vintage furniture new life and sharing DIY projects online, but that soon grew into something neither of us expected. Through putting our art and ideas into the world, people eventually started asking us to create murals and transform their spaces!

Today, I focus on custom murals, working closely with each client to create something that feels like it's meant to be in their space. I have created art my entire life, and I’ve always been drawn to color, pattern, and detail. I love taking an idea, collaborating with the person or brand behind it, and completely transforming a space.

Whether I'm working on a home, a business, or a hospitality space, I create art that feels like it could only belong there.

and when i’m not painting walls…

Tola has always been about more than murals. I'm usually in the middle of a home project, working on a piece of art, or scouring the ends of the earth to find that one vintage piece I can't stop thinking about.

home

After years of creating a bright + funky space in a new-build home, I'm taking on something completely different: a 70s house that needs a whole lot of work. I'm leaning into a moodier, loungier, more eclectic vibe. A couple things haven’t changed though - it’ll be filled with vintage finds, DIY projects, and plenty of figuring sh*t out along the way. I’m excited to share the process!

art

I'm inspired by the figures, colors, patterns, and unexpected forms I find all around me. I love organic shapes, eclectic things, and art that makes me stop and slow down. I work primarily in acrylic and oil, usually on wood, and I especially love creating work on a large scale (surprise, surprise).
